Advice for 1st Year Teachers

I'm linking up with Deb at Fabulously First for her Teacher's Wisdom Linky Party.  What's crazy to me is that I am offering advice.  I've been doing this for 4 years now and I think one of my greatest strengths in teaching is that I listen to my students.  I mean REALLY listen.  I also find great value in having a mentor teacher.  I had one my first year and it is a friendship that I have continued over the years.  Go ahead and share your wisdom and link up with Deb too!  Maybe share this linky with some newbies in your district :)

  1. That's great advice! I will always remember how helpful my mentor teacher was. She was so supportive and always there when I needed her. She was so reassuring when I was a nervous wreck! :)

  2. Thanks for the great advice! I will be a first year 2nd grade teacher this year! My student teaching teacher told me about the value of having a mentor. I have already asked my new principal about the mentor program and they have one lined up for me! I can't wait to read more on your blog!
